After a holiday season spent with extended family, it became clear to me that a lot of people are exclusively getting their information from a certain news network. In an effort to get people to expand their news consumption, friends and I made Fox the News—a parody site that helps Fox News fans expand their horizons.
Fox the News reskins New York Times and Washington Post articles to look like they’ve come from your great uncle’s favorite website. All you have to do is copy a story link from the NYT or WaPO and paste it into our site and it’s magically transformed into something Hannity himself would think is real.
When a story is reskinned by our service, the resulting template has a slew of easter eggs that serve to further broaden our user’s outlook:
2) Users are able to share templated Fox the News links through their own Facebook and Twitter accounts.
5) Much like the “ads”, the “more stories” section link to charities and nonprofits associated with the cause alluded to in the headline. For example, the “Major concealed-carry bill picks up momentum” story links to the gun control charity, Everytown.
6) Every article filtered through the Fox the News system credits the author as well as original source.
